Whether you're witnessing the Great Migration, tracking the Big Five on a private game drive, or walking alongside elephants in a pristine conservancy, Tanzania offers safari experiences of extraordinary depth and exclusivity. Add the spice-scented streets of Stone Town and the turquoise waters of Zanzibar, and no other destination in Africa delivers such remarkable diversity in a single journey.

Best Time to Visit Tanzania
June to October is widely regarded as the best time for a Tanzania safari. The dry season brings thinning vegetation and animals concentrating around water sources, making game viewing exceptionally rewarding across the Serengeti, Tarangire and Ruaha. This is also peak season for the Great Migration river crossings in the northern Serengeti, one of the most dramatic wildlife spectacles on earth. Expect warm, dry days and cool nights, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C (68°F to 82°F).
January to February offers a remarkable alternative — the short dry spell within the wet season, when the southern Serengeti hosts the wildebeest calving season. Thousands of newborns attract predators in extraordinary numbers, and the landscape is lush and green. Fewer visitors mean more exclusive game drive experiences, and rates at many luxury camps are lower than peak season.
November to December and March to May bring the long and short rains respectively. While some remote camps close during this period, those who travel find a transformed landscape, exceptional birdwatching, and the most private safari conditions of the year. Zanzibar remains a year-round destination, with the warmest and driest conditions running from June to October and December to February — perfect for combining a beach stay with your Tanzania safari.
Regions of tanzania
Each corner of Tanzania tells a different story. From the sweeping plains of the north to the ancient volcanic highlands, our tailor-made safaris are built around the regions that speak to you — combining private access, expert naturalist guides and handpicked luxury camps for an experience entirely your own.
Serengeti
The Serengeti is Tanzania's most iconic safari destination — a vast, unbounded ecosystem where the Great Migration unfolds in a continuous cycle across the plains. From the calving grounds of the south to the dramatic river crossings of the north, a private Serengeti safari delivers wildlife encounters on an epic scale found nowhere else on earth.
GNgorongoro
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's most extraordinary natural wonders — a collapsed volcanic caldera sheltering one of the highest densities of wildlife on the continent. Black rhino, lion, elephant and flamingo share this self-contained world, making it an unmissable addition to any northern Tanzania itinerary and one of the finest Big Five destinations in East Africa.
Kilimanjaro
Africa's highest peak rises dramatically from the surrounding savannah, offering both the world's most celebrated high-altitude trek and a stunning backdrop to the northern safari circuit. Whether you choose a private guided ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro or simply witness it towering over Amboseli from a luxury camp, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Tanzania's most powerful landscapes.
Arusha
Set between Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, Arusha is the gateway to Tanzania's northern safari circuit and a destination in its own right. Arusha National Park offers intimate game walks and canoeing alongside giraffe and buffalo, while the city itself provides a vibrant introduction to East African culture. Most luxury Tanzania safaris begin and end here, with exceptional lodges and direct flight connections making arrivals seamless.
